Controlling The Maritime Domain

Pistris, Inc. knows that there cannot be lasting global stability or security unless nations are able to establish control over their territorial seas, economic exclusion zones and inland waterways. Exerting effective and sustained governance over this vast maritime domain is the daunting task facing countries around the world.

Many nations currently lack the necessary resources to control their coastlines. The problem is further exacerbated by vast littoral areas. Such a task requires significant amounts of specialized equipment - coupled with an extensive, highly trained group of personnel.

Pervasive insecurity in the world's resource-laden maritime environment has resulted in billions in annual financial losses, significantly constrained investment and economic prospects, growing crime and diverse political consequences - rather than contributing to stability and economic prosperity.

Piracy, fisheries violations, smuggling, lack of effective Search and Rescue (SAR) and illegal dumping of hazardous waste are symptoms of an unregulated maritime space. Addressing each symptom separately is inefficient and ineffective. Establishing control over this unregulated space will eliminate all illegal activities simultaneously.
