Air Mobility RDT&E

Air mobility is often the preferred method of mobility and SOF insertion. High speeds and extended ranges are useful in mission planning. Not all aircraft in use are truly suited to the special operations mission, however - and many contingencies can not be properly addressed by current air mobility systems.

Pistris, Inc. brings its considerable experience to a number of air mobility technology projects, including:

  • Amphibious Aircraft Insertion Methods: Although amphibious aircraft have not seen significant operational use in a number of years, new technologies have made such aircraft more attractive to mission planners. Their ability to operate from both water and from short landing strips gives amphibious aircraft a major advantage over other aircraft. Additionally, they enjoy advantages over helicopters. - such as higher payload per unit cost., greater range, higher speed and lower cost.
