Maritime Mobility RDT&E
The maritime environment is perhaps the most hostile and volatile. Evidence of this fact can be seen in the considerable injury rates and maintenance costs associated with current maritime mobility systems. In spite of these facts, relatively few significant advancements in maritime mobility have been made (with the exception of propulsion systems) within the last forty years.
Pistris, Inc. brings its considerable experience to a number of maritime mobility technology projects, including:
- Seakeeping Hull Forms: Pistris currently provides RDT&E assistance to several designers of new hull forms that have been designed to significantly improve seakeeping and reduce shock transferred to onboard equipment and personnel.
- Shock Mitigation: Pistris is involved with testing and evaluation of shock mitigation systems designed to reduce personnel injuries due to both short and long term exposure to the vertical accelerations associated with high speed craft travelling through waves.
- Intuitive Control Systems: Pistris is involved with the development of intuitive systems for the control of high speed surface craft. Such systems are designed to improve overall craft performance and reduce the training time required for craft operators.
