Pistris, Inc. provides Maritime Security Assessments and audits designed to assist the client in achieving a level of security which will not only provide the protection required within today's security climate, but will also meet or exceed the expectations of various international maritime security initiatives -- specifically, the International Maritime Organization's ISPS Code and the US MTSA.

The Security Assessment and Security Audits are essential and integral parts of the process for developing and amending a Security Plan. In addition to periodic updates and reviews, the Security Assessment and Security Audit provide the opportunity for clients to monitor compliance with their Security Plan and make amendments as necessary.

The assessment or audit addresses the vulnerability of the vessel or facility by identifying its weaknesses in physical security, structural integrity, protection systems, procedural policies, communications systems, transportation infrastructure, utilities, and other areas that may be a likely target.

Drawing on our unique experience, the Pistris assessment team will identify and evaluate possible threats to key facility operations, assets and infrastructure, and the likelihood of their occurrence, in order to establish and prioritize security measures.

Security Planning

Pistris, Inc. provides Maritime Security Plans designed to assist the client in achieving a level of security which will not only provide the protection required within today's security climate, but will also meet or exceed the expectations of various international maritime security initiatives -- specifically, the International Maritime Organization's ISPS Code and the US Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA).

Our team will use the information gathered during the assessment to develop an effective security program that incorporates detailed preparation, prevention, and response activities for each threat level-along with identifying the organizations, or personnel responsible for carrying out those activities.

The team will document the security program in the form of a written Security Plan. The plan will address the discrepancies identified in the facility security assessment and consider the recommended measures appropriate to the facility's consequence level.

The Security Plan will contain information that pertains to the prevention of security incidents, such as procedures for communication and coordination to reduce the risk of, or vulnerability to a transportation security incident. The procedures detailed in the Security Plan will be coordinated with incident response plans.
